Stress at Work

(Warning: This will bore most of you.)

As some of you may know, I am a DBA (Database Administrator) for the City of Canton.

Last weekend we had upgraded the Income Tax DB (Database) server's disk drives, Long story short: the DB wouldn't come back up and I got the call around 10:30 PM on Sunday night. So I logged in remotely from home and worked on it for 2 hours (till 12:30 AM), and I still couldn't get the DB to come up. So I decided to work on it early in in the morning, but the thing is the Tax DB is the one of the most important DB's in the City.

In Sets The Stress (or 'Moving and Shaking'):
I started feeling so stressed that I couldn't sleep. As I would start to fall asleep, I would feel the bed shaking. At first I thought andrea was shaking, but then I realized it was me that was shaking.

I eventually fell asleep around 2:30 AM.

After about 1.5 hours the next morning at work, I got the DB up! Yea! (... and there was much rejoicing.)

Stress at Work:
Most of the time my job is free of stress, but a few times a year I have a lot of stress.
