Time for Cleaning
We cleaned out the garage last weekend, I don't usually think of myself as a pack rat, but after we filled several contractor sized garbage bags with junk, I will have to re-evaluate what I keep in the future.

Green (environmentally friendly) Fuels and Cars

I don't know why people still need to be dependent on oil from the ground to produce the fuels we need to get through our daily lives. There are other options, some of which are proven to work not only in practice but also in business.

Wait ... I take it back, I do know why we are so dependent on oil: Oil Companies and certain politicians make too much money from oil for them to promote something that is good for the planet!

Oh, well. Here are some links to a few environmentally friendly fuels and cars that you may not know about. Some are here and now, and some hope to become main stream, while others are still trying to live up to the hype they create.

District Convention
We just got back from our 2004 'Walking With God' District Convention … I can't beleive how much more work our kids are this year than last!

I don't know how my mom brought three, then four of us to the Assemblies when I was a kid … maybe we were easier to deal with than our kids are. I hope as they get older it will get easier (that's what several people have told me).

I walked around with my kids (to keep them quite) more this past weekend than I did the previous month!

Diets…
Why is it you don't really crave food until you are on a diet?!?

Oh, well, at least I've lost 7 pounds over the last 2 weeks.

Right now I weigh 207 pounds, the diet I'm on says I should weigh 158 pounds … give me a break, where do they think I live? Ethiopia?.

I may actually try to get down to 165 or 170 pounds. I just look too skinny when I'm below 160! I haven't been that thin since high school … and yes, that was a long time ago, thanks for reminding me of my age too! Next you'll be telling me how I had more hair back then also.

Oh, poop…
A few posts back I said that my son (Owen, 1 year 5 months) had gone pee pee on the toilet. Yesterday he went poopy on the toilet.

I know you are probebly sick of all of this potty language, but this is exciting stuff to me. As I mentioned before: between my daughter (Alana, 3 years 5 months) and my son, we've been changing diapers for almost 3½ years! We are ready for this to end! STOP THE MADNESS! :-)

Aliases …
My wife (Andrea) and I are torn between two sets of aliases for ourselves … Raoul and Consuella (from Malcom in the Middle, the parents were going to run away and change their names) or Ken Adams and Regina Phalange (filangie) (from Friends, Joey's and Phoebe's fake names).

Maybe we will use tham both in different situations. ;-)

Of course we are not going to do anything bad, we may just use them as screen names.

Do any of you have any ides on which way we should go?

G4techTV … ARGHHHH!

What happened to TechTV, it used to be pretty good, but since it became G4techTV it is just too game oriented.

Don't get me wrong, games are OK. But I used to love to watch to get tips, tricks, and programs I would use on my computer at home and at work.

And all of the Mod-ing that they have been doing (even when it was TechTV), give me a break! How many of us have a plasma cutter to help create our own cool case!?! Yes some of the Mods are neat and cool, but I think G4techTV goes overboard a bit.

And the G4techTV Web Site, how awful! When I would search for something, I used to be able to actually find most of it on the TechTV site, but that's not the case with G4techTV. Thank heavens Kevin Rose and Sarah Lane are posting some information on their personal sites.

I understand that Call for Help will be coming back with Leo, that might help. Though I feel sorry for The Screen Savers, they really have gone down hill (and I don't think it's because of the on-air personalities, I really like most of them).

Oh, well. G4techTV, if you are listening: Get rid of half of the shows about gaming and get more Techie!

If anybody else in the TV industry is listening: Start a new channel, one that has more of a Techie slant to it!

Another Milestone
Today my 15 month old son, Owen, actually went pee-pee on the potty!

You might not think that's so special, but when you have been changing diapers for almost 3½ years it gives a little hope … I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Where's Owen!?!

The other day I was sitting at my computer in the den and Owen (my 15 month old son) was in there with me. He closed the door so I knew he couldn't get out. Then after a few minutes I realized it was quiet, too quiet! I looked around the room and Owen was gone!

I got up and looked around, I couldn't see him. I happened to look into the kennel that we occasionally put our dog (Koko) into and there was Owen just sitting there looking out through the bars at me, smiling!

"Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of." - Benjamin Franklin
My 3 year old daughter has been saying something for about the past month that isn't wrong, but it is different.

Instead of saying "I am not" or "I'm not" she says "I amn't".

We can't figure out where she got that from, but I thought it was cute enough to post.

Baby Steps
Our son (14 mos. old) is finaly walking. He realized a few days ago that he could walk and actually get some place.

He took his first steps several months ago (at around 9 mos.), but he always wanted to crawl or be carried.

Our daughter took her first steps at 7 mos. and was walking at 9 mos. We thought our son would be at a similar level, but we were mistaken.

Vacation
We just got back from a 2 week vacation. Four days were spent driving, which I don't really mind. Seven days we stayed at my mom's 'Winter Home' in Bonita Springs, Florida. And one day at Nags Head in the Outer Banks (OBX), North Carolina.

It's been over 2 years since we had any kind of real vacation, so this was something we really needed.

This was the first time our kids were at the beach. Alana had a great time in the sand, but was a little scared of the water. Owen had fun in the sand and was not afraid of the water, he crawled right out into it and it didn't phase him.

In the Outer Banks we went to see three light houses: Cape Hatteras, Bodie Island, and Currituck Beach. Alana really liked the light houses. We are hoping to be able to go back to the Outer Banks later this year.

It was great to relax and have some fun in the sun.

Sick Again
This past week we have once again all been sick, this time it started with me and spread to the others.

New Site
Well, our new site, Lazarides.us, is pretty much in place and everything seems to be working, the only thing I may change about it is to make it fit better in screen resolutions lower than 1024×768.

Take a look and let me know what you would change about it.

Tuesday, February 03, 2004

It's been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I'd give a brief update:

Alana (daughter) is 3 and Owen (son) is 1.

Owen had his first haircut on January 22, 2004 and he took his first steps on January 25, 2004.

I have my site running on its new server and URL, you can find it at: Lazarides.us.

I'm in the process of redesigning and implementing the redesign on the whole site.
